https://ojs.gi.sanu.ac.rs/index.php/zbornik <p align="justify">Established in 1951, the <strong>Journal of the Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" SASA</strong> plays a major role in incubating, influencing, and inspiring geographical research with an interdisciplinary approach. The journal is published by the <a href="http://www.gi.sanu.ac.rs/index.php/en/">Geographical Institute "Jovan Cvijić" of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA)</a> three times per year. All articles are published under Open Access, which means that all content is available and can be downloaded free of charge from the Journal's website and used for educational and non-commercial purposes. Submission of the articles doesn't involve article processing charges (APCs), submission charges, or any other charges. Jovan Cvijić SASA.</em></p> <h4><strong><img src="https://ojs.gi.sanu.ac.rs/public/site/images/JGIJCSASA/naslovna-74-1.jpg" alt="" width="1106" height="1562" /></strong></h4> <p align="justify">The Journal is subsequently published <strong>online in the English language </strong>(however, articles in Serbian and French have also been published in the past decades). Manuscripts in English should be delivered through the Journal's system or emailed in electronic form (MS Word in docx. format). Authors should use a Form for writing articles (template file), which can be found in <a href="https://ojs.gi.sanu.ac.rs/index.php/zbornik/Authors_Guidelines">Authors Guidelines</a>, to prepare their manuscripts.</p> <p align="justify">Papers will be considered only <strong>if they have not been published elsewhere before</strong>, are not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and their publication has been tacitly or explicitly approved by all co-authors (if any) and by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out. After publication in the Journal, the authors also warrant that the manuscript will not be published elsewhere in any language without the consent of the copyright holder.</p> <p align="justify">The Journal welcomes <strong>scientific articles</strong> (original scientific articles, reviews, communications, letters, research notes, and book reviews) <strong>related to physical geography or human geography</strong> (see <a href="https://ojs.gi.sanu.ac.rs/index.php/zbornik/Focus_and_Scope">Focus and Scope</a>). After initial editorial checking, the submitted manuscripts are forwarded to two or three referees for a double-blind review. The usual period of reviewing the papers takes three to four months, depending on the number of submitted materials. All of the reviewers of a paper act independently and they are not aware of each other’s identities. If the decisions of the two reviewers are not the same (accept/reject), the Editors-in-<span class="VIiyi" lang="en"><span class="JLqJ4b ChMk0b" data-language-for-alternatives="en" data-language-to-translate-into="sr" data-phrase-index="0">Chief</span></span> may assign additional reviewers.</p> <p align="justify">The Journal welcomes <strong>manuscripts from authors whose articles can enrich the overall view of geography and related scientific disciplines</strong>. It is understood that all the authors, having submitted their papers to the Journal, agree to the publishing politics and ethics. In January 1951, at the initiative of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and the Geographical Institute SAS, the first volume of the Journal was edited by Academician Petar S. Jovanović. In the following years and decades of work, the Journal has been published in regular intervals, in Serbian, French, and English, and presented the empirical and theoretical results of the research in the fields of physical geography, human geography, regional geography, cartography, and related sciences and scientific disciplines.</p> <p>During the many decades-long developments of the Journal, a continuous advancement is notable in the quality of the published articles, the creation of the new website in OJS software, the introduction of CC license, and the innovations in the editorial policy, which, in recent years, has resulted in the indexing of the publication by several renowned index bases, of which some of the most significant ones are Web of Science, Scopus, and DOAJ, as well as in the status of the national journal of international significance, granted by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. Today, the Journal is a modern, interdisciplinary scientific publication that is regularly published three times a year, and which enables free access and the publishing of scientific articles free of charge.
